Lactation Consultation

Lactation Services

At Omaha Childrens Clinic, we are proud to offer comprehensive, in-house lactation support led by experienced medical providers who are also International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs).

· Dr. Tricia Schmit has been an IBCLC since 2016

· Nicholle Bruhn, APRN, CPNP-PC has been an IBCLC since 2017.

We offer same-day lactation services with a provider, conveniently available during your baby’s newborn or well-child visits, or as separate, dedicated lactation appointments. This integrated approach allows us to support both parent and baby while addressing feeding concerns early and effectively.

Why Choose an IBCLC?

An IBCLC is the highest level of certification in lactation care and represents extensive training, clinical experience, and ongoing education. Breastfeeding can be rewarding, but it can also come with challenges and having the right support early on is a key factor in long-term success.

Our IBCLCs provide:

· Expert, evidence-based guidance

· Hands-on assessment and support

· Personalized feeding plans tailored to your goals and your baby’s needs

· Early identification of feeding issues before they become overwhelming

· Support that builds confidence, not pressure

We believe breastfeeding support should be collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. Our goal is to empower families with knowledge, reassurance, and practical tools so they can make informed decisions that work best for them.
