Office Policies

Appointments

To help provide timely service to our patients, we schedule all visits. If you are later than 15 minutes for your appointment, you will be rescheduled to another time. We do this as a courtesy to our other patients.

If you cannot bring your child in for their appointment, you will need to send the child in with their insurance card, copay and a note authorizing us to treat your child.

We can schedule appointments up to 6 months in advance. We will call you to leave a reminder on your voice mail the day before the appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible. Patients who do not call and do not show up for their scheduled time will be assessed a $25 fee. Should that occur three times, we will ask you to find another physician.

Insurance

We accept most health insurance. It is important to note that: YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE IS A CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. We bill and submit claims to them as a courtesy to our patients.

At EACH AND EVERY VISIT, you will be required to provide your insurance card, photo ID, and copay.
You are responsible for finding out from your insurance company if you have a deductible or if a procedure is covered. We will check eligibility and confirm coverage before every visit.

OCC is contractually bound to collect your copay when checking in. You may be asked to reschedule your visit if you do not have your copay for your scheduled appointment.

We make every effort to schedule appointments for ill children on the day you call us. Please call our office ahead of time to minimize the time you will spend waiting. If you have a medical emergency during office hours, we will do our best to see your child immediately or refer you to the appropriate facility. If you would like more than one child seen, please schedule both when you make your appointment so that enough time can be allotted for sibling(s).
