Dr. Vann is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. He is a graduate of Westside High School. He attended college at the University of California, San Diego, with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. His medical degree was earned at theUniversity of Nebraska Medical Center in 1990. After his pediatric residency in Syracuse, New York, Dr. Vann practiced medicine in New York, Kenya, Texas, and Maine before returning home in 1995. Dr. Vann has been married to his wife and best friend Wendy since 1993. They have two children, Jake and Cecelia.
Dr. Vann and his family love to travel and spend time together. Dr. Vann has a love of music. He attends every Omaha Symphony with his mother, Judy. He loves to play piano along with his kids. He is also enjoying the resurgence of Husker football.
Dr. Vann prides himself in open and honest communication with the families of his patients. When you choose Dr. Vann as your pediatrician, you become a part of his extended family.
Dr. Tricia Schmit grew up on a farm outside of Bellwood, NE. She attended Aquinas High School in David City and then moved to Chadron State College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences. Dr. Schmit earned her Medical Degree at theUniversity of Nebraska Medical Center and then completed her pediatric residency in Pensacola, FL, where she met her husband. Dr. Schmit practiced pediatrics from 2002-2013 in a privately owned clinic. In 2013, they and their 3 kids moved back to Nebraska to be close to the rest of her family. Dr. Schmit is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. She enjoys reading, jogging, and spending time outdoors with her kids in her spare time.
Nicholle grew up in the sandhills in Alliance, Nebraska. After graduating from Alliance High School, she moved to Omaha, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology and Chemistry from UNO. She then attended UNMC and earned a second Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Nicholle worked as an Emergency Nurse for 11 years at Children's Hospital & Medical Center and Methodist Women's Hospital. She has also worked as a Clinical Educator in the specialty clinics at Children's Hospital & Medical Center. Nicholle continued her education and graduated from UNMC with her Master's Degree in Pediatric Nursing. She is also a Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse, a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Nicholle is married and has two children. In her spare time, she loves to bake, garden, and travel. Nicholle has a passion for caring for children and their families. She loves to teach and thinks good communication is the key to success in medicine.
Holly J. Roberts, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who provides behavioral health services at the Omaha Childrens Clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She has been practicing with the Omaha Childrens Clinic team since 2011. Dr. Roberts believes that providing behavioral health in collaboration with a child’s primary care providers and team is optimal to ensure a child’s overall health. Dr. Roberts sees children and families with various behavioral health concerns, including concerns related to general behavior at home and school, ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, and coping and adjustment related to life changes. Dr. Roberts also has a faculty appointment at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Department of Psychology. She is also a faculty trainer in the Nebraska Pediatric Integrated Care Training program (NE-PICT). Many of Dr. Roberts’ students have trained with her at the Omaha Childrens Clinic over the years. Dr. Roberts takes an active role in establishing behavioral health in primary care clinics.
